My role at Waterstons is...
My biggest passion is networking and I can often be found tinkering with kit both in the office and at home to discover new ways of doing things. I started at Waterstons assigned to a client site for three years in the oil and gas sector, managing their day-to-day IT as well as looking after their site automation networks and servers. After this, I spent a year on the Service Desk familiarising myself with Waterstons' wide portfolio of clients and getting involved in project support. I've now moved into specialising as a Network Consultant, designing and implementing networks for a variety of industry sectors which is highly rewarding. My main interest within the networking role is security and how to design not just efficient networks that deliver the highest possible performance, but those that also ensure data and services are kept secure.
My life away from work is...
Outside of work my two outlets are working on my car and riding my bicycle, taking pleasure in the beautiful scenery of the North East – although my time is mostly taken up by my three beautiful children building Lego models and being climbed on!
